George Eliot as a Humorist

Title

George Eliot as a Humorist

Description

A summation of a lecture given by Mr. W. S. Lilly called "Four English Humourists of the Nineteenth Century." Most of his lecture was focused on the works of George Eliot. He was not a fan of her poetry but thought her works of prose entitled her to be called a humourist, which he defines as "an artist who playfully gives us his intutiton of the world and of human life."
