Laceham

Laceham,Town on the Floss, where Maggie Tulliver and her cousin Lucy are sent to boarding school, and where, later, Bob Jakin and Tom Tulliver get the lace goods with which they trade. The original of Laceham was Nottingham, noted for its lace manufacture.
