Impreneta (L'), Church of (Real)

Impruneta (L'), Church of (Real),A church six miles from Florence which contained the shrine of the sacred image of the unseen Madonna dell' Impruneta. The Church of Santa Maria dell' Impruneta, founded by the Buondelmonte family, consecrated in 1054, and rebuilt about 1470. One of the chapels contains the miracle working statue of the Virgin. This church, in the village of Impruneta, is famous for its Della Robbias.
