Calcondila, Demetrio (Hist.)

A Greek scholar to whose professorship of Greek in Florence Tito Melema succeeds. Demetrius Chalcondylae or Demetrio Calcondila, a Greek, who was brought to Florence by Lorenze de' Medici, was for more than twenty years professor of Greek in that city. He left Florence for Milan in 1492; died c. 1510 or 1513.
