Description

Popular poet; a frequenter of Nello's barber shop. He is an opponent of Savonarola. Francesco Cei was a Florentine poet of the second half of the fifteenth century, of a considerable reputation among his contemporaries. His only published work was a collection entitled: Sonecti, capitoli, canzoni, sextine stanze e strambatti, composti in laude di Clitia. Florence, 1503. This was reprinted several times under different titles.
