Cennini, Pietro (Hist.)

Goldsmith and printer, the younger brother of Domenico; an "erudite corrector of proof-sheets", who employs Tito Melema to help in editing his classical texts. Pietro Cennini, writer, humanist, and printer, born 1445, who in 1470-71 worked as "emendator" on his father's edition of the Commentary on Virgil. George Eliot makes him the younger of the two brothers, but he was seven years older than Domenico.
