Franco, Matteo (Hist.)

An "untainted skeptic", one of Lorenzo de' Medici's circle at Careggi. Matteo Franco (1447-1494), poet, friend of Luigi Pulci. The two exchanged a long series of abusive sonnets, full of slang and the language of the market place.
