Description

Florentine who can speak French. He is one of those present at the entry of the French king, Charles VIII, into Florence. When the rain interrupts Luca Corsini's Latin oration, Gaddi is asked to speak in French, but hangs back, and Tito Melema makes a speech in French in his place. In reality Francesco Gaddi, an officer of the palace, made the speech in French, which, in the novel, is made by the fictitious character, Tito Melema.
