Guarino (Hist.)

An Italian scholar who brought back manuscripts from Greece. Guarino da Verona (1370-1460), Italian philologist and teacher, at one time professor of rhetoric in Florence. He brought back many manuscripts from Greec, and grief over the loss of some of these at sea is said to have turned his hair white before he landed.
