Servites (Hist.)

A monastic order; "that famous Florentine order founded by seven merchants who forsook their gains to adore the Divine Mother." The Servites, or Frati Serviti (Servi Beatae Mariae Virginis) were an order founded in 1233 by Bonfigbo Monaldo and six other Floren tines. The Church of the Serviti in Florence was the Annunziata.
