Vespucci, Giovanni (Hist.)

A Florentine who ordered from Piero di Cosimo a picture of Oedipus and Antigone, for which the artist wanted Romola and her father to sit. According to Vasari Giovanni Vespucci really was a patron of Piero di Cosimo who painted various pictures for Vespucci's house in the Via de' Servi.
