Sarti

Caterina's father, a broken down musician of Milan who dies in great poverty, leaving his little daughter to the care of strangers. The original of Sarti was Dominic Motta, Lady Newdigate's Italian music master. He died at Arbury in 1791. (See Newdigate, The Cheverels, pp. 50, 105
