The author of the article firmly believes (and supports the belief with his personal experience of the place he believes inspired Shepperton Church along with quotes, and research) that Chilvers Coton was the church that was the basis for the Shepperton Church. But there are some who believe that Astley Church was the inspiration for the location in the story.
