Cross, Mary Finlay (1843-1902)

A sister of John Cross, Mary Finlay Cross was favored by George Eliot. Mary Finlay authored several stories in Macmillan's, which would be collected in Railway Sketches (1899). During the Franco-Prussian War, Mary Finlay set up a soup kitchen in Sedan, France with her brother William Cross.
