Griff Hollows, Nuneaton

Title

Griff Hollows, Nuneaton

Description

George Eliot herself was the inspiration for Maggie Tulliver, and Isaac Evans, her brother, was the inspiration for Tom Tulliver in The Mill on the Floss. Griff Hollows was their childhood playground, and it is where Maggie and Tom go to fish in the novel. (Griff, a spacious two-story red brick farmhouse, was Eliot's childhood home from 1820-1841.)
