Description
"Bird Grove" was the name given to the Coventry home of George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) and her father, Robert Evans. They moved from Griff to Coventry when she was 21, when the elder son Isaac took over the management of Griff. She lived at Bird Grove from March 17, 1841 to June 12, 1849. The home is still standing as of 2019, located on what is now George Eliot Road in Foleshill.
