Dear Mr. Lewes
Your father's "Sea Side Studies" has been out of print since 1869 so no copyright value can be put upon it.
The same must be said in regard to the Physiology of Common Life as we see our last payment was on 10th April 1876 when some £66 was paid for reprint of odd numbers or sheets to complete sets of the book. There is an occasional dropping sale but it would take years to clear out the 400 stock on hand and until after these are sold there is nothing payable to your father's representatives and it would then be a question whether to reprint.
