The Priory, 1877.
But please tell our dear Madame Mohl that I retain a happy memory of her pleasant visit here during her last stay in London, and that I am glad to have some news of her through you. The last I had was from M. Scherer, to whom his wife had sent word that she had found the dear old lady sobbing bitterly in her solitude. 642 That left a sad impression on my mind, and I like to know now that you are added to the other friends of many years who can give her their cheering presence.
M. E. Lewes.
