The Pocket is perfect, my sweet Providence, and will be a comfort to me in my earthly pilgrimage for a long while. The touch of colour is a charming device.
Loving thanks, dear. I should never have got anything comparable to this without your care for me. The feather-like lightness is the chief requisite for me. I could not carry a wallet at my side with an antique silver clasp either for duty or pleasure.
Be sure to write and let us know of your affairs and intentions before long. Your poor dear face, which we have been used to see so lively, has made a new memory of itself with the shadow of sorrows upon it. 271
