Dearest Bessie
Yes! I do wish to have the Journal, but I will begin, please, with the next January No. paying my subscription for 1859.
Thanks for the October No. I have read the article on Domestic Life, 1218 but, very perversely, do not like the first part of it so well as your other articles. It wants their charm of concreteness and simple presentation -- seems to me too ambitious and abstract. I liked it better towards the end, and wished you had gone on longer.
That Sunday walk 1219 with you is very sweet in my memory. I care for you very much, and think of a happy, useful future for you with hope.
Ever your loving Friend
Marian Lewes.
Miss Parkes
