Dear Friend
I have made arrangements to replace my present Bookcase by a Library Table and Desk, so the sooner the other comes, the better. Will you when you write, remember to send me the address of the London agent for the Fire-lighters?
I think you would find some capital extracts for the Herald in the article on Church Parties in the Edinburgh. The Record is attempting a reply to it -- in which it talks of the "truculent infidelity of Voltaire and Robespierre!" Has Robert Cox sent you his book on the Sabbath? 390 If ever I write a book I will make a present of it to nobody -- it is the surest way of taking off the edge of appetite for it, if no more.
I am as well as possible -- and certainly when I put my head into the house in the Strand I feel that I have gained, or rather escaped, a great deal physically by my change.
