Dear Mr. Grove
Many thanks for your kind letter. 328 I am much cheered and comforted by the encouragement it gives me to hope that some of the purpose which has animated me in writing [Daniel Deronda] may not be without its fulfilment. I shall know at least that in much of what is to follow I shall have you for a sympathetic reader. Mr. Lewes unites with me in best regards.
Always truly yours
M. E. Lewes.
