Dear Mr. Smith
To be remembered by one's friends is among the best warming influences in this severe time, and I assure you that the beautiful box of Bonbons which came yesterday with your good wishes was in all senses sweet and welcome.
I think it is the thirteenth year since you first spent an evening with us in Blandford Square. 178 But I do not believe that thirteen is an unlucky number for us in any other way than by being one more than twelve -- which is of consequence in the debt of years. I trust that this thirteenth year of our epoch will be to you one of unbroken health and happiness -- family happiness which includes all the best things. Believe me
