Dear Sir
I thank you heartily for your kind letter, with the copies of your pamphlet and of the Hebrew newspaper.
No response to my writing is more desired by me than such a feeling on the part of your great people, as that which you have expressed to me. It is something more than an interesting coincidence -- it is a deeply felt encouragement to me, that at the date you mention, last winter, when I happened to be writing precisely that scene at the club, your practical judgment was occupied with projects not in disagreement with my conceptions.
I remain
Sincerely yours
M. E. Lewes.
H. Guedalla Esq.
