I had made up my mind to send you my article 510 -- that is, to despatch it from this place -- on Monday next, but I think I can make it more satisfactory by rendering the introductory part fuller . . . I have just read the part to which I refer to Mr. Lewes, and he thinks the ideas are crowded and would impress the reader more if they were diluted a little. . . .
People are wonderfully kind to us here -- Liszt overwhelming in attentions, Sch'f6ll and all freundlich, and Mr. Wilson 511 who has been here about ten days, extremely polite and agreeable. . . . I am happier every day and find my domesticity more and more delightful and beneficial to me. Affection, respect, and intellectual sympathy deepen, and for the first time in my life I can say to the moments "Verweilen sie, sie sind so sch'f6n." 512 . . . send me the Spectator with the Review of Feuerbach 513 if you can.
