Wednesday Evening.
Dear Mr. Langford
Lest any mistake should have arisen from the hastiness of my note, and the eking it out by a verbal message, I write this evening to say, that I chose the light blue cover -- the one like that of the original edition.
The Scenes of Clerical Life have not been translated by M. d'Albert, and although others have written about translating them, I do not know that any translation into French has yet been made, so that there need be no obstacle in the way of the lady in whom you are interested.
Yours sincerely
M. E. Lewes.
