I am grieved to hear of your being ill. I send you the only books George can lay his hand on that he can spare just now -- that are not too grave or bulky.
I hope the shock of that danger will have done Nannie no harm.
But you will be able to come to say goodby, I trust, before you go quite away. In any case, I am yours with faithful affection
