December 21.
Dearest B.
O what a lovely basket! It is a little oasis in the dreariness of this morning's fog. Bless you for it -- and come up to town looking and feeling as well as you deserve -- or better if possible.
We are going to dine with our children on Christmas day, and to visit the grave at Highgate in the morning if the weather will let us. 121
I hope your Christmas will be very happy among the dear kith and kin. I cling strongly to kith and kin, even though they reject me.
Ever yours lovingly
Marian.
