Dearest Barbara
I had become anxious about your health, not having heard anything of it for so long, and had just told the housekeeper to call and inquire in B[landford] Square. Your note relieved my anxiety, and I trust that the thaw will favour your change of air.
I have had an attack of renal pain and have been much disordered by it. 172 My head, however, has become clearer this morning and I am able to occupy myself.
