Dearest Barbara
Grace will go to her sister this evening, and you will have a letter by Wednesday morning with precise information. Grace believes that her sister is quite ready for you.
I do hope the change will turn out well, and that you will get almost as much comfort out of her as I do out of her honest sisters. 848 Quite as much you can hardly get, because you will be less dependent on her. Old Captain Willim is in a state of great bitterness about Mrs. Lee's 849 taking a situation, as she has been a sort of factotum for him, going into the city about money business, etc.
The oak leaves are a pleasant symbol of your enjoyment. I hope the Doctor is revelling in the absence of smoke and the endless obstruction of brick. Thornie has been at home the last week. He quits us for Edinburgh this evening.
