Dear Barbara
I know you will rejoice with us that Charley has won his place at the Post Office, having been at the head of the list in the examination. Magnificat anima mea! The dear lad is fairly launched in life now.
I trusted to your being frightened at the rain on Wednesday, 612 as I was. I am going to Lawrence's tomorrow at 'bd past 2, and can't help wishing you would meet me, for I long to see or hear something of you.
We go to Miss Bayley's to lunch today. In haste
Ever yours
M. E. L.
