Let me tell you of our delight in the beautiful flowers which came an hour ago and in the friendship which sent them. Thanks seem to me somehow rather clumsy coarse things on such an occasion. I want you chiefly to know that your impulse in sending us that remembrance has been just as sweetly beneficent as you wished it to be. In haste, before going out,
