Dearest Friends
I like to remind you of me on Sunday morning when you look at the flowers and listen to music, so I send a few lines, though I have not much time to spare today. After Tuesday I will write you a longer letter and tell you all about everything.
Thank you for the Herald. Your quotations are conclusive but I wish you had left out the allusion to the "prophets" of the present day, and confined yourself to the illustration of the effect of italics. 70
Dr. Brabant called yesterday and brought bad news -- namely, that his £800 must be repaid in the course of 2 years. This is entre nous.
I am going to the Opera tonight to hear the Huguenots. 71 See what a fine thing it is to pick up people who are short-sighted enough to like one. 72 I send an autograph of Douglas Jerrold's for Sara. More on Wednesday.
