Alas! the work is so heavy just for the next three days -- all the revises being yet to come in and the proof of my own article 1070 -- and Mr. Chapman is so overwhelmed with matters of detail that he has earnestly requested me to stay till Saturday. I cannot refuse -- but it is a deep disappointment to me. My heart will yearn after you all.
It is the first Christmas day I shall have passed without any Christmas feeling. On Saturday -- if you will have me -- nothing shall keep me here any longer. I am writing at a high table on a low seat in a great hurry. Don't you think my style is Editorial? Ever dearest Friends
