Dear Cara
I am glad to have the wool but still more glad to think of the kind heart that remembered my little want and took the trouble to supply it.
I am only just returned to a sense of the real world about me for I have been reading Villette, 272 a still more wonderful book than Jane Eyre. There is something almost preternatural in its power.
I have never been out of doors since I entered them on Saturday 273 -- they say I must go, so I can only scribble these two or three words else I shall not get my walk before dusk.
