Dear Cara
Mr. Lewes desires me to tell you that he will order all the numbers of the "Physiology of Common Life" to be sent to the Coventry Herald
Don't think of mentioning to Mr. and Mrs. Call the Hofwyl religious instruction again. They acted on their own impressions and could not properly do otherwise. But it is desirable that other people should not be scared away from a school which is so unusually free from the objections attaching to most continental schools.
Mr. Bray will sympathize with our excitement in the expectation of a real pug dog! Blackwood, determined to procure me one, if possible, set his cousin, Colonel Stuart, hunting in all the dog-fancying regions of London for one, and after infinite pains and adventures the much-desired animal is found. The anxieties of our life are beginning -- we shall now have no peace lest Pug should be stolen. He comes as a substitute for lost friends.
