The Priory.
Many kind letters come to me from your side of the Atlantic which want of time and strength for unnecessary correspondence obliges me to leave unanswered. 754 But I cannot allow you to imagine me discourteously indifferent to your friendly recollections of our interviews in old days. That you are the mother of grown up children is one of the many reminders I am constantly receiving that the larger part of life's journey lies behind me. . . .
