Dear Friend
It is now settled that we are to leave this place and go on to Whitby on the 18th. I send you word at once on the decision being made, lest we should lose any chance of having you there, by narrowing your time for resolve or preparation. If nothing has arisen to alter that pretty disposition of yours which made you wish to be where we should be, please ask for our address at the post office when you come, or, if your arrival should precede ours, leave your own address there in readiness for our inquiry.
I am in excellent spirits about Mr. Lewes. Our coming hither has answered gloriously, and he gains strength every day. But the waters are so strongly tonic that it will not be prudent to continue taking them longer than a fortnight, and Whitby will be a desirable change for him. I need say no more now, than that I shall count on seeing those sweet eyes of yours soon after our arrival, unless you write to tell me that something untoward has happened to hinder that pleasure from befalling me.
