Dear Mrs. Harrison
It is very kind of you to think of us on this occasion of M. Lafitte's 502 visit, and I am quite discontented that Mr. Lewes made an engagement a week ago to dine out next Saturday. 503 He wishes me to express his regret, and to say that if he can get away from his party early enough to join you in the evening, he will be very glad to do so. It is my rule not to dine out, but under other conditions as to health and Mr. Lewes's freedom I should have been tempted to break my rule in this instance. I have been so ailing, however, that I could not engage even to go for an hour in the afternoon to Mrs. Congreve's for the sake of seeing M. Lafitte.
Your two visits here -- not, I think, more than two 504 -- gave me a great desire to know you better, and whenever it is not difficult for you to indulge that desire of mine, pray think of it. I hope that Baby is flourishing. With kind regards to Mr. Harrison
