My dear Mrs. Martin
I believe that you often take pity on sufferers, so I want to tell you that an ingenious friend of ours has invented an invalid's bed 760 which facilitates the turning and lifting of the patient in all needful directions, without any handling of the body, which is often a cause of so much pain.
Unhappily it cannot be made at present under £10 or £12, so that poor people could only get it as a loan or present. I am anxious that benevolent friends should know of its existence, in case of their desiring to confer such a relief on any bedridden creature.
I was indebted to you and Mr. Martin for a great deal of pleasure the other evening from your kindness first, and after that for the sight of many pretty things.
Mr. Lewes is very ailing still. I hope that you and Mr. Martin will not only get robust yourselves but find him so on your return. Always
