Tuesday Morning.
Dear Mrs. Allingham
If we do not get to you to see your pictures, as Mr. Allingham's letter kindly permitted us to do, conclude that Mr. Lewes is still too unwell for us to drive out. He has been ailing for a fortnight, and is now suffering severe pain. If we have the comfort of finding that he is well enough to drive as far as your house tomorrow or Thursday about 3 there is nothing he would like better than to see your Surrey work.
