My dear Sara
I think your new title a great improvement, and quite the best of all. I quite understood from your previous titles that you regarded Faith as having a tap-root of its own, and was not without a sense that "subjection" might not be an acceptable word. But "subjection" has not, I think, etymologically and classically the absolute meaning sometimes given to it. Man is in subjection to the external world, though he also to a certain extent controls it. But your own new edition is much better than anything I had thought of, both for precision and brevity.
I am very glad to hear of the projected journey to Ramsgate, and all the more, that it is not to happen till a month hence; for the places at the coast are too crowded now to be comfortable.
Mr. Spencer is just come back from Scotland 375 in great force. He has been much more assured about his health during the last year, and has been more like his old self -- full of delightful talk and with amiability in his eyes.
Thanks for your double letter, dear Sara. You have made your feeling quite clear to me.
