Dear Sara
I feel too acutely what death is to write vain words to Cara. This sorrow seems to have happened to me too -- it calls up such long memories of the time when we were very near each other. I shall be anxious to know how both Cara and Mr. Bray are after another week -- when you can spare me a few minutes.
Surely, dear Sara, both to you and Cara there must be the sense of having tried to the utmost to give value to that young life which was brought so close to you. 321 But we make sad mistakes in attempting to judge of each other's consolations. Ever, in my deepest heart
