My dear Mr. William
Will you be so kind as to order a copy of [Theophrastus Such] and of [The Spanish Gypsy] to be sent to Dr. Ferd. Worthmann, 374 | Heidelberg --? | and I shall be greatly obliged if you will allow a post-card to be written from your house to the same gentleman, telling him that the original Life of Saint Teresa is probably in Germany, (as it is here, but with difficulty) to be procured at the second hand book shops.
I am ashamed to trouble you about this trifling business, but I am really afraid of communicating with Dr. Worthmann myself, as he is a stranger to me and threatens by his effusiveness to be an importunate correspondent. Heaven does not seem to have blessed him with the average delicacy of feeling.
