My dear Mr. William
I return the list from which I have erased all names of private persons (except those to whom, I presume, it is the Publisher's gift) save Mrs. Bray 239 and Sir James Paget. I gave my copy to Charles and kept the one in paper for myself, telling him to send the copy which I expected would afterwards arrive to his address, on to Mrs. Congreve. I do not like to make presents of my own books. It was always my Husband who desired them to be sent.
I was glad to have a letter dictated by Mr. Blackwood this morning, a double confirmation of good news. It came to me on my own sick bed, but I am making an effort to prepare for the journey to Witley tomorrow. 240 So will you kindly order things to be addressed to me there? The Heights | Witley | Godalming.
