Dear Brother
Why will you not come and see us? You are dreadfully proud. Johnnie goes to town on Monday, but on Tuesday he will be at home. Can you not come to lunch and dinner? And then we will take you a glorious drive -- always supposing that the rain will allow us. If Tuesday should be a wet day, take another.
We are grateful to Florence for warning us about the woman in the Chelsea house. I too had smelt the gin, and we had been wondering how soon Anna could spare the trustworthy old servant whom she had recommended to us as a temporary housekeeper. Gin-drinking seems an inevitable attribute of women who are [put in] to take care of houses.
You and Florence will perhaps be too busy about the future house to spare the day for lawn tennis. But if not, you can arrange with Johnnie when you come here. Love to Florence.
