Kussmaul. 30 Vol IV. Went to Mr. Hoole. Mrs. Crompton called. Concert at Academy of Music. The two sextetts of Brahms, quartett of Schubert, and Henschel 31 singing "Revenge Timotheus" and "Die Beiden Grenadiere." 32 Joachim, Piatti, Strauss. Glorious evening. Intense enthusiasm excited. Leighton, Balfour, Burne Jones etc. Young lady helped Polly on with her cloak and kissed her hand and then her cheek. Polly said, "Forgive me but I do not recollect you." "Oh! it is too good of you to let me. If you speak to me I shall cry."

Kussmaul. Vol IV. We went to the Telephone office to have the Telephone explained and demonstrated. Chat with Kate Field and Col. Reynolds. 33 Park. Simon on [Cancer.] 34 Lecky. [Cosmos.]
