W. G. Clark and Anthony Trollope came to dinner; the latter bringing the sad news of Mrs. Browning's death. 807 We had a very pleasant dinner and then went to tea with Carlyle, whom they had never seen. Woolner, 808 the sculptor, there. Capital talk. Home at 12.
