My dear Sir
It would be better to wait for the Easter returns before sending any payment on account -- I hope those returns will prove more favorable than you anticipate -- for 2000 copies seems to me but a small sale for such a work all over the continent. 133
I shall be glad of the copies when they are ready, but of course as it is only to keep among others of the kind there has been no inconvenience from your clerk's forgetfulness.
Mrs. Lewes begs me to thank you for your kind wishes and to send hers in return.
