Here is the proof. I see you have inserted the word two in the blank I left for volumes. Do you refer to the 1st ed.? In that case it would be two vols. 4to and yours is one vol. 8vo. But I only know Boswell as six or eight vols. 8vo. Ascertain which is right -- I haven't means at hand -- and rectify accordingly. 857
Some time ago you pointed out a lache in Middlemarch. Mrs. Lewes has forgotten what it was, and as a new edition is preparing she wishes to correct it if you can recover the mistake. 858 In great haste
